After trauma occurs, you may doubt that you know yourself. You may doubt right/wrong. You doubt what you are feeling. You may doubt whether you could have done something to prevent the trauma.
Time may vary, but over time, doubt may become comfortable as it helps you to make sense of what happened.
As you get stronger and recover, you may doubt whether you can trust yourself. You may doubt whether you know what's right. You doubt what you are feeling. The doubt may fuel you to second-guess yourself.
So what do we do with all this doubt, accept and release. It may be ironic, but there is nothing wrong with your thinking. You are right on target. Although people who do not understand the path you are walking may doubt your truth due to their ignorance.
Thus, do not become arrogant, as you do not know everything. But invest in confidence that you have acquired a new level of knowledge. True, you would not wish this acquisition of knowledge on your worst enemy. But it is genuine for you.
Be prepared for what you know to develop and change as you grow through your recovery and progress beyond it.
